WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. - Ripon's men's basketball team capped the final day of the JustAGame Fieldhouse Classic on Saturday with one of the program's biggest wins in recent history, defeating fourth-ranked and previously unbeaten UW-Oshkosh 83-80. The game featured 13 ties and 27 lead changes, including 19 in the second half, with neither team leading by more than eight points.

Both teams came out firing, with Ripon (5-4) shooting 50 percent (16-32) from the field in the first half and UW-Oshkosh (10-1) making 56 percent (15-27) of their first half shots. Ripon made six of their first seven shots, helping them get out to an early 14-7 lead, but UW-O closed the gap with a 19-12 lead to tie the score at 26. The lead continued to see-saw back-and-forth the rest of the half, with UW-Oshkosh taking a 39-38 lead into intermission.

That lead wouldn't last long in the second half, as a Trent Jones layup gave Ripon the lead just one minute into the period. UW-Oshkosh then went on a 10-4 run to take a five-point lead, but Ripon answered with back-to-back 3-pointers from Seth Kostroski and Cal Schultz to take the lead with 13 minutes remaining. Neither team led by more than four the rest of the way, with UW-Oshkosh taking a one-point lead on a pair of free throws with 64 seconds to play. That lead lasted all of 15 seconds, as Ripon's ensuing possession resulted in Kostroski's second 3-pointer of the game to give them the lead for good with 49 seconds on the clock. UW-Oshkosh would miss a potential game-tying 3-pointer with four seconds left, which secured the victory for the Red Hawks.

Ripon forced 13 Oshkosh turnovers, which they turned into 14 points, while also out-scoring UW-O in second chance points, 14-3. The Red Hawks converted 93 percent (13-14) of their free throws, while UW-Oshkosh made 60 percent (12-20) of their foul shots. Ripon also made 42 percent (8-19) of their 3-point attempts.

Schultz led Ripon with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Isaac Masters added 16 points and a career-high seven assists, and Jones scored a career-best 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Kostroski and Koy Brecklin chipped in with eight points apiece off the bench.

UW-Oshkosh was led by Ben Boots' 25 points, while Jack Flynn posted 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, to go along with a team-high seven rebounds. Adam Fravert added eight points, three rebounds, and four assists.

Ripon will try to carry this momentum into their next game on Wednesday when they'll jump back into conference play at Grinnell College. That game will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Grinnell, Iowa, and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
