How It Happened
Lebanon Valley picked up its most impressive victory of the season to date with an 86-55 thrashing of Dickinson at Sorrentino Gymnasium on Monday night, Dec. 18.

Sam Light posted his second 30-plus point performance and Andy Orrrecorded his fourth double-double of the year. The duo combined for 47 tallies of the team's point total in leading the Flying Dutchmen (8-2) to victory over a squad that received votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. Freshman Zach Tucker was the third player to reach the double-digit scoring mark with 10.

Light was white hot out of the gate for LVC, showing off his mid-range ability and netting the team's first eight points before Orr followed it up with five in a row to put the home team out in front 13-4 less than five minutes into the contest.

The Red Devils (5-3) tried to hang around, as Mike Hinckley's jumper in transition cut the deficit to 28-20 at the 10:17 mark, but Light and Orr responded by converting the game's next eight points to halt any momentum gained by the visitors during the short run.

Light's 3-pointer off a find from CJ Boxley gave the Dutchmen their largest lead of the first half at 42-24 with 2:12 left before the break but Dickinson showed signs of life by putting together a 5-0 run to draw to within a more manageable 13 at halftime.

It was for naught, however, as the 1-2 punch of Light and Orr continued to be too much for the Red Devils to handle after the break. The pair combined to score Lebanon Valley's first 11 points of the second half and push the advantage to 17 with 14:22 left to play.

When Orr and Light were provided a brief breather midway through the second half, their teammates answered the call. Andrew EberhartChris AndersonCollin MooreLuke Stambaugh, and Caleb Barwin all hit key shots to help push the lead to 70-45 with 5:48 remaining before freshman Gordon Shouler put a cap on the game's scoring by converting a tough layup and burying a jumper from beyond the arc in the final seconds to seal the blowout victory.
