Big Blue Men’s Basketball Off to 2-0 Start

          The Millikin men's basketball team picked up its second straight win to open the season defeating Webster University 79-66 on November 21 in St. Louis.

          Millikin shot 58 percent from the field including hitting on 64 percent (18-28) in the second half.  Millikin was 9-15 (60 percent) from three-point range including going 5-7 (71 percent) in the second half.  Webster hit on 48 percent of its shots, but went 4-22 (18 percent) from beyond the arc.  Millikin dominated the boards for the second straight game pulling in 35 rebounds compared to 22 for the Gorlocks.

          Elijah Henry had another big game for the Big Blue scoring a team high 20 points. He had seven rebounds and five assists.  DeVante Harrell added 13 points.  Sophomore Jordan Cunningham had a double double with 12 points and a team high 11 rebounds.  Senior Michael Charles II had 11 points including going 3-3 from three-point range.

          Rodson Etienne led Webster with 19 points followed by Josh Johnson with 14.

          Millikin is now 2-0 while Webster goes to 1-2.

          Millikin heads to Colorado Springs, Colorado for a Thanksgiving Tournament.  The Big Blue will face Sarah Lawrence on Friday, November 24.
