ARLINGTON, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's basketball team held SUNY Geneseo to one field goal over the final 9:45 in a 63-47 victory Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Fifth Annual Pablo Coto Tournament.

Sophomore Korey Turner (Midlothian, Va./Amelia Academy) of the Yellow Jackets was named the tourney's Most Outstanding Player. He scored 12 points in the title game with six assists and six rebounds. Senior Daniel Noe (Fairfax, Va./Bishop Ireton) joined Turner on the All-Tournament Team. Noe had 10 points and four rebounds off the bench for R-MC. Junior Grayson Midulla (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) led all players with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Freshman Buzz Anthony (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) hit a three-pointer to start the scoring. R-MC led 5-2 before a 6-2 run gave the Knights an 8-7 lead. The Yellow Jackets were up 11-10 before seven straight points by Geneseo made it 17-11 with 9:20 left in the period. Midulla had six points in a 20-7 spurt as the Yellow Jackets went ahead 31-24 with just under one minute remaining. A layup by the Knights made it 31-26 at the break. Midulla paced R-MC with eight points, while Turner chipped in seven points to go with three assists. The Yellow Jackets held a 22-19 edge on the boards. Junior Montese Adams (Richmond, Va./Fuqua) led R-MC with six rebounds.

Midulla sank a trey start the second-half scoring, giving the Yellow Jackets a 34-26 advantage. Geneseo put together a 9-2 run to close within one at 36-35 with 14:30 remaining. R-MC held a 42-41 lead with 9:45 before closing the game on a 21-6 run. Freshman Max Morrow (North Chesterfield, Va./Amelia Academy) started the spurt with a three-pointer from the left corner. Noe had eight of the 21 for the Yellow Jackets. The R-MC defense held the Knights to one three-pointer and three free throws over the final 9:45 in recording the 63-47 win.

Junior Jon Nowell (Riverdale, Ga./Blair Academy) went 4 for 6 from the floor for eight points. Three of his four rebounds were on the offensive end and he also had one block and one steal.

Geneseo shot just 32.7% from the floor (18-55) and 15.0% on three-pointers (3 for 20).

Randolph-Macon returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 26 with a 2 p.m. home contest against Ferrum in Crenshaw Gym.
