Baruch Stuns Hunter on Late Doyin Isaac Layup

Doyin Isaac connected on a layup with three seconds left and the bench totaled 41 points to defeat rival Hunter College, 73-71, in a CUNYAC contest on Tuesday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

The Hawks scored the first six points, but the Bearcats took control midway through the first half on their way to leading 39-35 at halftime.

The visiting Bearcats managed on multiple occasions to lead by double-digits in the second half, but the Hawks stormed back in the final minutes to tie the contest at 71 on a pair of free throws by Gio Gabbidon with 10 seconds left.

The Bearcats took the final possession and Isaac hit a layup in the waning seconds to lift the Bearcats to the important late season win.

Chimaechi Ekekeugbor led all scorers with a near double-double of 25 points, nine rebounds. Isaac finished with 22 points, while William Sixsmith had 14 points.

Amer Lukac led the Hawks with 24 points and eleven rebounds.
