Nichols rolls past Curry, 98-57

MILTON, Mass. – Senior Devin Stallings (Waterbury, Conn.) notched 14 points and six rebounds in Nichols College's 98-57 win over Curry Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's basketball action at Katz Gymnasium.
 
Sophomore Marcos Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) scored 17 points – 15 in the first half – and knocked down four 3-pointers. Freshman Jerome Cunningham (Westbury, N.Y.) registered 14 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks while junior Daequon Antoine (Fort Mill, S.C.), along with freshmen Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) and Terrel Williams (Brockton, Mass.), each scored eight points.
 
Nichols held a 51-39 edge on the glass and shot 49 percent from the floor, making 12 three-pointers. They also forced 20 turnovers which led to 36 points.
 
Freshman Kieran Carroll (Greenwich, Conn.) led the Colonels with 16 points to go along with seven rebounds. Classmate Jared Thorpe-Johnson (Dorchester, Mass.) picked up 12 points and seven rebounds as the Colonels shot 33 percent from the field – including 4-of-24 from downtown (17 percent).
 
The Bison led 41-27 at the half behind Echevarria's efforts and seven points from Stallings. Carroll paced the Colonels with 12 points. Booker, Antoine, and Cunningham each scored eight points in the second half as Nichols outscored the home team 57-30.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marked the 66th all-time meeting between Curry College and Nichols College. The Bison have won the last nine meetings and have evened the series at 33 wins apiece.
