SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team fought off a late rally from Sewanee Friday afternoon to pull out the 67-62 road win. The Panthers are now 10-10 overall and 6-3 in the Southern Athletic Association.
BSC was led by stellar performances from James McLean (Maitland, Fla./Winter Park HS) and Harrison Deneka (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS). McLean had a game-high 22 points and Deneka finished with 20, respectively.
This was the second 20-point performance for both Panthers this season. Deneka also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, nine defensive.
The Panthers return home for the next two conference matches. They face Rhodes College on Friday, Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. and Hendrix University on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. Both games are doubleheaders with the women's team.
