MADISON (NJ) – Delaware Valley University shot 54.4 percent from the field from the field and received a career-high 25 points from sophomore Andre' Butler to pull away with an 81-63 road victory over Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham.

The Aggies, in pursuit of their MAC Freedom title defense, have now won their last four games to improve to 10-7 overall and 5-1 in MAC Freedom games. They remained tied atop the standings with Eastern University, setting up the first-place showdown with the Eagles when the two meet in St. Davids, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, January 25. The Devils dropped to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in league play.

DelVal was on fire all afternoon as it shot 48 percent from the field in the first half and 59.4 percent over the final 20 minutes. The team was 31-for-57 overall, including a 28-for-45 effort (62.2 percent) from inside the 3-point line.

The two squads played to an 8-8 tie after nearly eight minutes of action. That's when Butler went off for DelVal. The second-year player fueled an 18-2 Aggie run over the next five and half minutes with 10 points of his own to go with an assist and a steal. The spurt opened a 26-10 lead with 6:53 left on the first half clock. FDU-Florham came back and scored the next eight points, with four different players tallying in the run. However, DelVal continued the hot shooting and took a 34-22 lead into the break.

The second half was much of the same as the Aggies started with a 12-4 run, fueled by eight points from Tyrea Williams, who came off the bench in this game and saw just three minutes of action in the first half as he was plagued by foul trouble.

Shortly after, the Devils got three points back to make it 46-29 before DelVal went on another run. This time it was a 13-2 stretch, and again it was highlighted by Butler who had eight points during the run and helped the Aggies to a 59-31 lead with 10:39 to play.

The lead ballooned to as many as 31 points after JaDon Robinson found Austin Stoeckel open beyond the arc and he connected for his second trey of the game to make it 73-42 with six and half left in regulation. From there, DelVal cruised as eight different players tallied points in the game, en-route to the 81-63 victory.

In the game of his career thus far, Butler shot 10-for-11 (90.9%) from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. He also added 11 rebounds, four assists and one steal. Williams scored 14 points and grabbed six boards in just 15 minutes. Kimbrough scored 13 points and Stoeckel connected on 2-of-3 treys to finish with eight points in 14 minutes. Daniel Paulson saw 20 minutes of action and recorded six points and five rebounds.

FDU-Florham shot just 37.3 percent (25-for-67) from the field as a team. They were led by Darren Davy's 10 points. Derek Leohner added nine points and Donte Ali scored four points and led the team with seven rebounds.
