ATLANTA (Dec. 29, 2016)  Led by a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double from senior Leo Born, the Sewanee men's basketball rallied from as much as an 11-point deficit to defeat Stevenson, 65-60, Thursday, in the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic at Oglethorpe University.

Born finished 5-for-11 from the field and added a 7-for-8 effort at the free throw line. Classmate Jorden Williams, who added 13 points, joined him in double figures.

After Stevenson led by 11 with 1:18 left in the first half, a three by Born and a layup by Hunter Buescher cut the deficit to six at halftime.

From there, the Tigers finally trimmed the lead down to a possession when Williams capped off a traditional three-point play with 15:45 left. Stevenson continued to hold a slight advantage until 8:57 in the second half. Back-to-back threes from Born and Williams gave Sewanee its first lead since early in the first half at 57-54.

The Tigers did not look back the rest of the way. Despite not leading by more than five points down the stretch, Sewanee never trailed. In fact, it was Born that hit two free throws with four seconds left that pushed the Sewanee lead to multiple possessions.

Overall, Sewanee made only 34 percent of its shots. However, the Tiger defense played well limiting Stevenson to a 39 percent mark and 15 turnovers.

Sewanee quickly returns to action with a 2:00 p.m. (EST) contest against Methodist, Thursday.
