The No. 16 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team surged offensively in the second half Thursday night in a 97-71 victory over Lawrence in a non-conference affair at JustaGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.
The Warhawks (10-0 overall) continued their best start since the 2009-10 season thanks to shooting more than 50 percent from the floor and from 3-point range. The team also hit 27-of-43 from the free-throw line.
After breaking the school record for points in one game with 45 last week against Ripon, junior forward Scotty Tyler led the offense again with a game-high 30 points.
The Vikings (2-5 overall) kept the game close in the first half before the Warhawks broke it open in the second.
UW-Whitewater continues play in Wisconsin Dells Friday against Central (Iowa) at 3 p.m.
