SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The University of Scranton men's basketball team scored the final six points of the first half, then used a dominant 11-minute run in the second half to put away Emory & Henry en route to a 63-51 victory on Sunday afternoon at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente.

Scranton (7-2) went on a 24-5 run from the 16:17 mark of the second half, turning a 37-35 lead into a 61-40 edge with 5:01 remaining. Six different Royals scored during the run, led by senior center John Vitkus (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) and junior forward Brandon Feinberg (Avon, Conn./Avon/Suffield Academy), who both had six points during the decisive run.

Vitkus finished the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds, his team-leading sixth double-double of the season. Feinberg had a career-high 10 points, four assists and three rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench, and junior guard Mitch Cross (Marriottsville, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) had 12 points, three rebounds and two steals in 16 minutes.

The Royals finished the game shooting 45.1 percent (23-for-51) from the field, including 5-for-16 (31.3 percent) from 3-point range. They also hit 12 of 16 free throws (75 percent) while winning the battle on the glass, 41-32. They also blocked nine shots while holding Emory & Henry (5-4) to 32.8 percent (20-for-61) from the field, including 5-for-18 (27.8 percent) from beyond the arc.

Scranton also got eight points, three rebounds and a steal from junior forward Drew Schankweiler (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg). Junior guard Kevin Doolan (Basking Ridge, N.J.) finished with seven points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds, and fellow junior guard Ethan Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights) had six points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Royals will be in action on Monday when they take on Montclair State at 3 p.m. at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
