Poughkeepsie, NY – The Lehman College men's basketball team evened their record at 1-1 with a 101-72 victory over Johnson State (VT).  It was the first time in over a decade that the Lightning eclipsed the century mark.

Five Lehman players tallied double figures.  Newcomer Mylo Mitchell led the way with 16 points.  Andrew Utate chipped in 15, Damian Bellamy 14, John Brens 13 and Jean Marcial 11.   The Lightning shot an impressive 60% from the field (36-60) as well as from behind the arc 9-15.

"The guys came and played with a lot energy, specifically on the defensive end," commented Coach Schulman after the game.  "As a result we were able to pull away."

Seven and half minutes into the game the Lightning already had a double digit lead and didn't step off the gas.  Lehman built up a 52-28 lead at half.  The Lightning were able to keep the Badgers (1-1) at bay in the second half out-scoring them 49-44.

Schulman continued, "It's always good to get the first one of the season."

The Lightning move onto the finals at 4:00 pm on Saturday where they will face host Vassar.  The Brewers defeated Keuka in the other match-up 88-72.
