Franklin Begins Weeklong Road Swing at Transylvania on Wednesday

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's basketball team hits the road for the final two games of the 2015-16 season, playing Transylvania University on Wednesday, February 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Grizzlies will conclude the season at Anderson University on Saturday, February 20, at 3 p.m.

Junior Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe) has recaptured the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference scoring leadership, averaging 21.2 points per game. He is tied for fourth place in the league with 6.8 rebounds per contest. The guard has made 52 three-point field goals and is shooting 44.8 percent from behind the three-point arc.

Meanwhile, senior Trae Washington (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) tops the HCAC with 114 assists, and leads the Grizzlies with 26 steals. He is averaging 16 points per outing for the season.

Junior John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) is coming off an 18-point performance against Mount St. Joseph University last Saturday in the Spurlock Center. The 18 points raised his season scoring average to 10.7 points per game. Classmate Robbie Prather (Franklin, Ind./Roncalli) rounds out the team's offensive attack at 9.8 points per outing.

Franklin is averaging 75 points and shooting 38.6 percent from behind the three-point field goal circle this season.

Transylvania stands 10-13 on the season and is 9-7 in HCAC play. The Pioneers are coming off a 96-72 loss last Saturday at Defiance College, breaking a three-game winning streak. The team's offensive attack is led by Alex Jones (15.7 ppg) and Parker Stansberry (15 ppg).
