BRONX, NY --- Olando Minott scored 22 points as the Lehman College men's basketball team outlasted visiting Baruch College, 88-81 on Friday night at the APEX Gymnasium in the Bronx.

Minott led the Lightning of Lehman (16-6/10-3 CUNYAC) in both scoring and rebounding, as he finished with ten boards. Olusegun Williams continued his strong play of late, recording 17 points with five rebounds. Chaun Miller came up with 15 points and six rebounds, while Andrew Utate came off the bench to score 14 points with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Bearcats of Baruch (12-10 / 8-5 CUNYAC) was led by Chimaechi Ekekeugbor with 26 points and nine rebounds.

The first half was a hard fought affair. After spotting the hosts an early 6-0 lead, Baruch rallied and would be in front for much of the period. A late free throw with seven seconds to go put Lehman in front 41-40 going into the break. In the second half, the two teams continued to trade the lead. The crucial moment came with 8:30 to go when Minott buried a three to put the Lightning up by three, 62-59. Baruch immediately answered with an equalizer, only for Utate to hit another Lehman triple to put the hosts up by three once again. Lehman would never trail after that, shooting 19 of 22 from the charity stripe in the second period.

Lehman will be back on the court on Tuesday when they travel to Hunter College to take on the Hawks in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
