Jackson, Bess net double-doubles in win over Chatham

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team defeated the Chatham Cougars 93-86 for their fourth consecutive win in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Wednesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.

The Tomcats were led by Leandra Jackson, who recorded career-highs in points, rebounds and assists while notching his first career double-double in the victory. Jackson scored 26 points with 11 rebounds and five assists. He went 9-of-18 from the field and knocked down 7-of-9 free throws.

Khari Bess notched his fifth double-double of the season and third in four games with a 15-point, 11-assist performance. Bess also added four steals and four rebounds. Luke Kochka tallied 22 points and six rebounds. Clandell Cetoute was one rebound shy of a double-double with 15 points with nine rebounds.

Alex Schoppen led the Cougars with 22 points and five rebounds.

Thiel dominated Chatham on the glass and in the paint. The Tomcats held the 44-30 advantage in rebounds and a 48-34 advantage in the paint over the Cougars.

The Tomcats (10-10, 8-5 PAC) will look to extend their winning streak on Saturday when they take on the Thomas More Saints on the road. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
