How It Happened

  • The Ravens opened up with a 15-3 advantage after the first 6:33 was played on a couple of field goals from Marcus Thomas, followed by four baskets from Jamier Hughes and punctuated with a three-ball from Charles Presley. The Pacers would make inroads into the Rosemont lead and would outscore the home side 7-2 to sneak back to within seven points of the lead with 10:33 on the clock.
  • Still ahead by seven points, 21-14 with 8:41 left in the first, the Ravens would put together another solid run of 8-0 to take a 15-point lead, 29-14 with 6:19 on the clock. Over the next 2:29 Rosemont would add seven more points to their lead to take a 38-16 advantage with 3:40 left in the period. The Ravens would hold on to most of that lead, ahead 40-19 going into the locker rooms.
  • The scoring pace for both sides was decidedly slower to start the second half, with the teams combining for a total of only three points in the first 3:04. The Ravens would not be caught, as each time the Pacers made some inroads into their deficit, Rosemont answered with an even stronger stretch. Ahead 44-26, the Ravens would extend their lead to 27 points, 57-30 with 11:20 remaining in the game.
  • Rosemont continued to put together a great offensive and defensive strategy, enabling them to up their lead to 69-34 with 7:25 left in the game. From that point, it was known to all in Alumnae Hall that this game was over for all intents and purposes. Marywood nibbled away at the lead towards the end of the contest, but it was too little and too late as the Ravens would come away with another strong win.
