After taking a 31-24 lead after one, the Lions came back to get within three (34-31) and forced 15th-year Head Coach Joe Loughran to use a timeout. Coming out of the TO, R-N received two buckets from Azoroh and one from Ofray to go back up eight (39-31), and a three-pointer from senior guardVik Singh made it a 42-31 game at the 15:02 mark. With 3:07 left, the R-N lead hanging at three and TCNJ with the ball, Ofray came up with a steal that led to a fastbreak layup from Snow to give R-N some breathing room, and despite closing within two at the 33 second mark, Rutgers-Newark did just enough to squeak out the conference win as Snow hit 3-of-4 at the line in the final 11 seconds.

Snow and McDaniel set the tone off the bat with three-pointers, giving the hosts a 6-0 lead, and after TCNJ battled within two (26-24) with 1:18 left in the opening period, a 5-0 personal run to close out the first sent the Scarlet Raiders to the locker room with a 31-24 margin.

McDaniel now has 11 games in which he has secured eight or more rebounds and 11 games in which he has scored 20 or more points. The veteran has scored 25 or more five times this season.
