Franklin Heads to Manchester on Wednesday

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's basketball team concludes its three-game Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) road swing with a game against Manchester University on Wednesday, January 27, at 7:30 p.m. in North Manchester, Indiana.

This week will also have the Grizzlies hosting Earlham College on Saturday, January 30, for the National Basketball Coaches Association's Coaches vs. Cancer game and Alumni Day festivities. Former players will return for one more game in the Spurlock Center, and enjoy the men's game against the Quakers.

Junior Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe) is the conference's second-ranked scorer (21.9 points per game), while leading the team in rebounding (seven per contest). The guard is shooting 86.7 percent from the free throw line this season.

Senior Trae Washington (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) leads the league with 89 assists. He is averaging 15.7 points per contest. Junior John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) rounds out the team's offensive attack by scoring 10.2 points per outing for the season. Beineke leads the team with 14 blocked shots and stands second with 6.2 rebounds per game.

Senior Matt Niehoff (Rushville, Ind./Rushville) is shooting 48 percent from behind the three-point line this winter. He is averaging 7.3 points per game.

Manchester stands 9-8 on the season and is coming off a 76-74 overtime victory at Earlham on Saturday. The Spartans are 6-4 in league play. Adrian Johnson leads the team's offensive attack at 19.1 points per game. Brady Dolezal (12.8 ppg) and Matt Brown (11.1 ppg) are also double-figure scorers in the team's lineup.
