More news about: Lake Forest

After sinking a program record 11 three-pointers two days earlier, Lake Forest College men's basketball player Eric Porter was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday.

Porter, a sophomore guard, made 11 of 15 attempts from beyond the arc, easily surpassing the previous school record of eight three-pointers set by fellow guard Danny Nikitas as a freshman last season. Porter shot 12-for-17 from the field overall on Saturday and his 37 points matched the 10-highest single-game scoring total in team history. He also recorded three steals and dished out a pair of assists in the contest.

After eight games this season, Porter leads the MWC and ranks tied-for-38th in the nation with a .476 three-point field goal percentage. He ranks third on the team with 12.6 points per game and leads the squad with 11 steals.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information.
