Men’s Basketball Cruises Past Panthers for Seventh Straight Win, 74-36

Albany, NY – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team controlled play from start to finish earning a 74-36 road victory v. Albany College of Pharmacy on Sunday afternoon.

The Roos continued their perfect start to the season as they improved to 7-0, while the Panthers dropped to .500 at 4-4. The hosts scored the first basket of the game off a three-pointer from Thomas Chalker butSam Annorh (Queens, NY) responded on the following possession with a three ball of his own that sparked a 19-0 run for the Roos.

SUNY Canton led by as many as 21 in the opening half after aRomario Fletcher (Queens, NY) coast-to-coast layup with 1:28 left in the first half. SUNY Canton took a 39-21 lead into intermission.



The Roos continued to keep the foot on the gas pedal in the second half as all 12 players finished with at least 10 minutes of action in the contest.

Fletcher finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Annorh added 14 points, five rebounds and five assists. Khalil Bratton (Queens, NY) and Vonallen Pickett (Brooklyn, NY) tallied 12 and 10 points, respectively. Walt Jeter (Fort Drum, NY) chipped in eight points and seven boards.

Chalker paced the Panthers with 11 points going 3-for-3 from behind the arc. Ryan McVaigh added eight points and nine rebounds, while Phillip Chun finished with seven points.

SUNY Canton held the upper hand in rebounds (53-31), second chance points (13-7), points off turnovers (21-9), points in the paint (38-12) and bench points (26-8).
