Staten Island Pull Away Late From Baruch for CUNYAC Win in ARC Arena

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 78-59 to the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats struggled from the field shooting 33 percent (19-for-58), and were narrowly out-rebounded, 41-39.

The two teams were tied at 21 late in the first half, but the visiting Dolphins scored 14 of the final 21 points before halftime to build a 35-28 lead.

The Bearcats battled back and got as close as 51-49 on a
Jason Prettolayup with under nine minutes remaining, but the Dolphins responded with a 10-0 run to lead 61-49 with seven minutes left. The Bearcats could not recover as the visitors took over down the stretch for the win.  

Doyin Isaac(13 points, two steals) and Chimaechi Ekekeugbor(10 points, 10 rebounds) led the Bearcats in the scoring column this evening, while Jack Shanahanand William Sixsmithscored nine points each.

Will Fonseca led the Dolphins with 18 points and nine rebounds.
