Tigers Shoot the Lights Out in Fifth Consecutive Win

LOS ANGELES — Spencer Levy and Jay Miller each had double-doubles with 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Occidental men's basketball team put on a shooting clinic during an easy 101-60 win over Future College at Rush Gymnasium on Wednesday.

Season Impact: The Tigers win their fifth in a row by a wide margin, improving to 5-1 on the season.

Oxy made its first 10 shots of the game and finished at 67 percent from the field as a group. 

Levy lit it up from the outside, going 5 of 8 from beyond the 3-point line and 8 of 13 overall.

Miller was on the money from the mid-range, elevating over defenders to go 9 of 12. The junior also had five assists and three steals. 

Oxy point guard Kory Hamane continued his excellent outside shooting, going 3 of 4 from deep for nine points. Through six games, Hamane is shooting 56 percent from the 3-point line.

Oxy big man Andrew Garrison was effective at the elbow, draining open 15-footers throughout the game for a total of 13 points on 7 of 10 shooting.

Andrew Johnson, a Second Team All-SCIAC selection in 2014-15, had a quiet 15 points and seven rebounds. 

Oxy had 27 assists as a team led by Jeevin Sandhu, who had six in 17 minutes off of the bench.

Thurman Thomas led Future with 22 points.

Next Game: The Tigers take a break from the court for finals and then return to action on Dec. 16 against Bristol at 7 p.m.
