LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 76-61 victory over Wheaton College at home.

Both teams started slow from the field as Benedictine fell behind 4-0 early before a Tim Reamer basket with 13:18 left in the first tied the game
Down six points at 16-10, Benedictine rallied with seven straight to lead 17-16 after Michael Blaszczyk split a pair of free throws
Falling behind by six points again at 29-23, Benedictine used a run of 14-1 to jump ahead 37-30 in the final minute of the half
John Dodson opened the run with a jumper and a pair of free throws from Reamer finished as Benedictine would lead 39-33 at the break
Wheaton did not lead in the second half as a layup from Luke Johnson extended the advantage to double figures at 48-38 with 17:51 remaining in the contest
The visitors cut the deficit to three at 54-51 before a quick 7-1 spurt again spaced out the margin

"I am proud of our team for posting two quality wins to open the season," head coach Keith Bunkenburg said. "We finished the first half well after finding ways to get the ball inside, but we need to find a way to get off to a better start."
