Big Blue Men Win Shootout at Greenville

         The Millikin men's basketball team won 115-113 at Greenville College in the CCIW vs. SLIAC Challenge on November 21 in Greenville, Illinois.

         Millikin made the most of its opportunities hitting 65 percent from the field.  Greenville hit only 39 percent from the field, but their run and shoot style resulted in the Panthers putting up 99 shots (making 39) in the game.  Millikin made 37-54 (69 percent) from the free throw line.  Greenville won the rebounding battle 52-49.

         Millikin got a career high from TJ Sims who poured in 43 points.  Sims went 23-25 from the free throw line setting a new Millikin record for free throws in a game.  He broke Scott Stegall's mark of 21 that has stood since 1951.  Tommy Pilackas had a career night in points and rebounds scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  TJ Griffin scored 11 points putting him over the 1,000 career points threshold.  He now stands at 1,003.  Freshman Jack Simpson scored a career high 10 points and had nine rebounds.

         Tim Daniel led Greenville with 30 points.  DeAndre Brown added 19.

         Millikin is now 2-2 on the season and will play at Principia College on November 24 at 7 p.m.
