BOSTON, Mass. –Saturday, February 21, 2015 will mark the "End of an Era" at the University of Massachusetts Boston.  Longtime head men's basketball coach Charlie Titus will coach his Beacons for the final time in the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium, in what will truly be a historic day for both the men's basketball program, and for the entire university.

The Beacons, who are scheduled to face Western Connecticut State University at 3 p.m., will honor Coach Titus throughout the afternoon.  Immediately following the conclusion of the game, Chancellor J. Keith Motley will recognize Coach Titus for his countless contributions to the sport of basketball and to UMass Boston.

Throughout the game prizes and special one-of-a-kind T-shirts will be handed out to fans.  There will also be two special raffles held during the event for a UMass Boston prize pack, and a set of four Boston Celtics tickets.

The only head men's basketball coach in the history of UMass Boston athletics, Titus has been a staple in the collegiate basketball world for over 40 years.  A multi-time recipient of the Little East Conference Coach of the Year award, Titus was instrumental in establishing the LEC, which has become the premiere Division III basketball conference in the country.  During his tenure, Titus has led the Beacons to two NCAA Tournament appearances, and the 2006 Little East Tournament title.
