Randolph Center, VT – Eleven different players registered their name in the scoring column as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team went on the road and defeated Vermont Technical College 69-55 on Sunday afternoon.

Romario Fletcher (Queens, NY) led the SUNY Canton scoring contingent as the only player in double figures with 11 points. Tyler Ellison (New York, NY) added nine points and seven rebounds, while Kam Peterkin (Harlem, NY), Vonallen Pickett (Brooklyn, NY) and Kevin Baksh (Queens, NY) posted eight points each. Sam Annorh (Queens, NY) added six points and a game-high four assists.

SUNY Canton (11-3) opened up a nine-point lead just over midway through the opening half after a Scott Bartenstein (Potsdam, NY) triple off a find from Peterkin. The lead was the largest of the half for the Roos as they took that same nine point lead at 35-26 into intermission.

Vermont Tech (6-13) used a 13-4 run over a five-minute stretch to take a 42-41 lead with 12:36 remaining in the contest. Ellison would convert an old-fashioned three-point play on the ensuing possession, as the Roos would not trail again. SUNY Canton extended is lead to as many as 18 in a dominating performance down the stretch.

The Roos held a 48-35 rebounding advantage including a 21-7 mark on the offensive glass leading to 23 second chance points. SUNY Canton got a huge lift from its bench who scored 44 points compared to just 19 for the Knight reserves.

The men's basketball team will host Alfred State College at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Roos House. Stay up to date with the latest news directly from the SUNY Canton Athletics department by "liking" us on Facebook and "following" our TwitterInstagram and YouTube accounts.
