SCHENECTADY, NY- Kevin Weckworth had a team-high 24 points and William Hython posted his sixth straight double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Union College Dutchmen defeated the RPI Engineers 86-75 on Saturday afternoon at Viniar Athletic Center. Terell Winney chipped in with 13 points, six boards and five assists for the Dutchmen. The win improved Union to 9-9 overall and 3-6 in the Liberty League. RPI falls to 5-13 and 2-7 in league play with the loss.

Weckworth was 7-of-10 from the floor including 5-of-6 from beyond the three-point line. Hython shot 7-of-11. Union as a team shot 53.6% (30-56) and 50% (8-16) from three point land.

Leading the Engineers was Josh Dugas who scored a game-high 26 points. Also in double figures for RPi was Brian Hatcher with 14 points and Chase Almond, who netted 10.

After heading to the locker room with a seven point lead, the Garnet and White went on a 15-6 run following the break to extend their lead to 16, 58-42, their largest of the game. Union also had a 71-55 advantage before RPI went on a 16-9 spurt to cut the game to single digits at 80-71 with 1:26 remaining in the game. However, that was the closest they would get as the Dutchmen kept the Engineers at bay for the final 86 seconds en route to the 11-point win.

Union will be now embark on a three-game road trip with games against Bard (1/30), Vassar (1/31) and Hobart (2/3).
