(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Four Saints reached double-figures tonight (Wednesday, January 14, 2015) as the Thomas More College men's basketball team defeated Geneva College, 88-66, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Golden Tornadoes fall to 6-9 overall and 3-3 in the PAC.

Thomas More jumped out to a 30-18 lead when sophomore guard/forward Nate McGovney (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) made a lay-up with 5:55 to play in the first half.  Geneva answered with a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 30-23 with 4:37 to play in the first half when Anothay Carthen made a three-pointer.  The Saints closed out the half on a 9-5 lead to take a 39-28 lead into the locker rooms.

The Saints opened the second half on a 20-5 run to extend the lead to 59-33 with 14:10 to play in the game when freshman center Louis Maniacci (Burlington, Ky./Cooper) made a lay-up.  The Golden Tornadoes used a 24-12 run to cut the lead to 71-57 on an Ethan Adamcyzk lay-up with 6:11 to play in the game.  That would be as close as Geneva would come as Thomas More closed out the game on a 17-9 run for the 88-66 victory.

Senior forward Drew Mumford (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy) led all scorers with 20 points.  Joining him in double-figure scoring was McGovney with 18 points, freshman forward Austin Young (Campbellsburg, Ky./Henry County) with 12 points and sophomore guard Drew Mays (Union, Ky./Ryle) with 10 points.  Mumford led the team on the boards with seven rebounds and in assists with five.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (January 17) when it hosts fellow PAC leading Saint Vincent College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. inside the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
