Dargan Nets 1,000th Career Point as Keystone Sinks Baptist Bible, 90-73

La Plume, PA – Miles Dargan (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) scored 22 points including the 1,000th of his career and Duncan Lunsford (Marietta, GA/Sprayberry) scored a season-high 33 points to carry Keystone College's men's basketball team to a 90-73 victory over Baptist Bible College in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night.  The Giants, who notched their second conference win in as many nights, lifted their record to 3-9 on the season and 3-4 in league play while the Defenders remain winless in 13 contests on the year (0-7 CSAC).
 
Dargan became the 16th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone when his floater in the lane circled the rim before falling through with 8:11 remaining in regulation to push Keystone's lead to 81-60 during a run that saw the hosts take final control of the game while pulling away from the Defenders.
 
Baptist Bible built an early 12-7 lead on Wednesday night before Keystone responded with a 12-0 to claim a 19-12 advantage at the 14:22 mark of the first half.  The Defenders narrowed the deficit to 22-20 with 11:36 showing on the clock, but the Giants used a 14-2 run over the next four and a half minutes to extend their cushion to 14 points at 36-22.  Keystone would lead by as many as 19 points before taking a 51-35 lead into the locker room at halftime.
 
Lunsford led all players with 20 points in the first half while Dargan netted eight points in the period.  Rashaud Kelley (Sharon, PA/Paul Laurence Dunbar) corralled seven rebounds while Tyreek Peeples (Philadelphia, PA/Girard College) dished out five assists in the opening frame for the Giants, who shot 50 percent from the floor in the stanza while going 9-22 from three-point range and 4-4 from the free throw line.
 
Abe Valentine paced Baptist Bible with 14 points in the first half while Mitch Raup tallied seven points in the period.  The Defender connected on 48.4 percent of their field goal attempts in the first 20 minutes of play while going 5-11 from downtown. 
 
Keystone pushed their lead to 22 points in the opening minutes of the second half before Baptist Bible used a 7-0 burst midway through the period to narrow their deficit to 69-56.  The Giants pushed their lead up to 23 points, 83-60, with just over seven minutes remaining during a run that included Dargan's historic bucket and Keystone's lead would not dip below 20 points until the final minute of the 17-point victory.
 
Lunsford's game-high 33 points came on a 12-16 shooting performance that including five three pointers and a 4-5 night from the free throw line.  Dargan connected on a game-high six treys as part of his 22-point performance while Dan Candemeres (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) tallied eight points in the victory. 
 
Lunsford also tied for a game-high with eight rebounds while Peeples dished out a game-high nine helpers for Keystone, who finished the evening shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 63.6 percent from the free throw line. 
 
Valentine paced Baptist Bible's offense with 30 points while Brinkley finished with 10 points and eight boards for the Defenders, who ended the night hitting on 45.9 percent of their shots from the floor including a 28.6 percent clip from three-point range while going 11-14 (78.6 percent) from the free throw line.  
       
Keystone will travel to Brooklyn, New York on Saturday to take on Brooklyn College in a non-conference game scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
