Blue Devils fall to Platteville, Jarvis Ragland scores 23

PLATTEVILLE (January 3, 2015) - After missing the last two games due to injury, Jarvis Ragland picked up where he left off, scoring 23 points, but it wouldn't be enough as UW-Stout fell at UW-Platteville, 75-56, Saturday at Bo Ryan Court.

Ragland was 9-of-15 from the floor, 1-of-3 from 3-point range and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. Isaac Elliott added eight points and Brett Ahsenmacher seven.

Platteville (10-3, 3-1 WIAC) carried a three point, 31-28 halftime lead. The Pioneers had four players score in double figures, led by Jim Stocki, who matched Ragland's 23 points. Boston Johnson scored 12, and Cory Vaassen and Jake Manning each added 11 points.

The Blue Devils (3-9, 0-3 WIAC) shot 38.2 percent from the field (21-55). The Pioneers shot 50 percent (28-56) from the floor.

Stout will host UW-Eau Claire, Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. and will be at UW-Whitewater, Saturday, Jan. 10 at 5 p.m.
