RICHMOND, IND. – An 11-3 run midway through the second half, coupled with better than 55 percent shooting from the field, guided Manchester University to a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference road victory Saturday, Dec. 6.

The guard combination of sophomore Blake Brouwer (Elkhart, Ind.) and junior Brady Dolezal (Tipton, Ind.) drilled eight of MU's 10 three-point buckets to end with 22 points apiece. Brouwer's afternoon signified a personal single-game career best, while Dolezal went over the 20-point mark for the seventh time and went into double digits for the 19th time in his last 20 games.

Earlham College, looking to end a 0-5 overall and 0-1 league start, got out of the gate fast in front of their home crowd. The Quakers led by as many eight in the first 20 minutes, but MU (2-5 overall, 1-1 HCAC) chipped away and eventually overtook their hosts with the aforementioned 11-3 stretch from the 13:44 to 10:20 marks of the second frame. EC answered back, holding a 56-55 lead with less than six minutes remaining, but MU scored five quick points en route to the 62-58 win.

Manchester University returns home, hosting Rose-Hulman in HCAC action Saturday, Dec. 13. Tipoff time is 5 p.m. inside Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.

NOTES: Junior forward Jarod Schrock (Logansport, Ind.) turned in team highs in rebounding (six) and assists (four). Senior guard Caleb Jackson (New Castle, Ind.) added to MU's 23-16 edge in the glass with five boards.
