Pioneer men's basketball team stretches winning streak to 3

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's basketball team stretched its winning streak to three Wednesday night by rolling past Cornell College 127-73 at Darby Gymnasium.
 
Jack Taylor '15 scored 28 points for the Pioneers, who improved to 2-2 in the Midwest Conference and 4-3 overall. Luke Yeager '15 added 22 points and five steals.
 
Julian Marx '17 scored 22 points, while Braedon Bayer '18 dished out 12 assists and also had five steals. Nick Curta '17 added seven rebounds and four blocked shots.
 
Cornell dipped to 1-2 in the MWC and 2-2 overall.
 
Grinnell led by five early before breaking the game open with 12 consecutive points. Marx began the run with a 3-pointer, Yeager added two more 3s and Anthony LaMacchia '16 drained a trey to push the Pioneers ahead 28-11.
 
They continued to roll, leading by 30 points at 75-45 by halftime. Grinnell continued to cruise from there for the win.
 
The Pioneers play at St. Norbert College Saturday, starting at 3 p.m.
