Arlington, Va. – Senior Jesse Konadu proved absolutely lethal from beyond the arc on Sunday afternoon, dropping a game-high 22 points in the Saints' 89-75 win over Shenandoah.  Marymount improves to an unblemished 5-0 with the nonconference victory – the best start in men's basketball program history.

JC Hoellich also chipped in 17 points, while D'Ondre Stockman rounded out the Saints' attack with 11.  Marymount rebounded by committee throughout the contest – overpowering the Hornets 28-26 on the boards.

The Saints trailed 2-0 for the game's opening 52 seconds, but – using an Alex Danko three-pointer at the 19:08 mark – would never trail again.

Marymount used a 7-2 run to snatch a 15-7 lead about five minutes in, but such a lead proved unsustainable in the opening half.  Shenandoah battled back to within one, 26-25, with 6:57 to play.  The Saints, well-aware of the Hornets on their heels, scrapped for another 7-1 run to reach a 33-26 advantage.

Shenandoah closed the half with a 5-0 rally – leaving the score at 33-31 heading into the break.

The second half saw the Saints take immediate control – the first five minutes most definitively.  Marymount used an explosive 15-4 run to swipe a comfortable 48-35 lead at the 15:34 mark.

The Hornets failed to breach the double-digit deficit more than once – struggling to solve Marymount's beyond-the-arc attack.  The Saints registered an impressive 9-for-10 performance from three-point territory over the course of the second half.

Konadu found some serious rhythm with 12:42 remaining, when he sunk his first of three consecutive three-pointers for the Saints – putting the host on top 62-44.

Marymount stretched its lead even further at the 5:13 mark, using a Danny Ferry three-pointer to reach its game-high 74-52 advantage.

The Hornets chipped away, but never truly threatened the Saints' insurmountable lead.

Marymount returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Dover, Del., to face CAC foe Wesley.  Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
