Gwynedd Mercy Hits Century Mark In CSAC Opener

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Six players finished in double figures as Gwynedd Mercy cruised in their CSAC opener, defeating Keystone, 112-74, Tuesday night at the Griffin Complex.

Sophomore Cedric Elleby led all scorers with a personal-best 25 points as the Griffins (4-1, 1-0 CSAC) shot 67.2% for the contest to hit the century mark for the first time this season.

Junior Julian Hyden added 17 points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds while sophomore Aaron Goodman chipped in 16 points and seven boards.

GM used 30-4 mid-first half run to open up a sizable advantage to which they would lead 58-29 at the break.

Miles Dargan led the Giants (0-3, 0-1 CSAC) with 20 points as he hit four of the team's 12 three pointers. Keystone would take 41 attempts from downtown (29.3%) and shoot just 32.8% (21-of-64) for the game.

The Griffins owned the glass, outrebounding Keystone, 46-26.

Senior Seth Heinicke netted 15 and the duo of senior Justin Knight and junior Brian Hennessey each had 12. The team would finish at a 41-of-61 shooting clip and a 9-of-18 from behind the arc.

The 112 points are the most since a 109-80 win over Villa Julie (now Stevenson) back on February 11th, 2004.

Gwynedd Mercy will head to our Nation's Capital on Saturday to face Division I Howard in an exhibition game beginning at 4 p.m.
