DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley College men's basketball team picked up its second straight home victory as 11 different players scored in an 83-46, non-conference rout of Penn State Berks.

 

The Aggies got back to .500 early in the season with a 2-2 mark while the Lions remained winless at 0-3.

 

Delaware Valley opened the contest with a 13-2 run and led by as many as 21 points with 6:41 left in the first half.  It eventually took a 33-19 advantage into the break. Junior Chris Moran led the way in the opening stanza with 10 points and four boards while Francis Arnold and Manny Ochenje each had seven points.  The Aggies defense held Penn State Berks to 24.2% shooting from the field.

 

Delaware Valley began the second half on a 14-4 run highlighted by seven points from Ochenje and a pair of 3-pointers from Dom Perry and Nick Sullivan. The Aggies continued their stellar defense as they forced 16 turnovers with 13 steals in the game. They held the Lions to 29.3 shooting, en route to the 83-46 triumph.

 

All 17 Delaware Valley players saw time in the contest. Moran and Ochenje led all scorers on the day with 14 points as the duo each had two blocks and combined for 12 rebounds. Jose Ortiz came off the bench and shot 3-for-4 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe for 10 points in just nine minutes of action. Arnold dished out a game-high seven assists while pitching in seven points and two steals. Zach Sibel hit two treys, en route to an eight-point performance.

 

Penn State Berks was led by Joel Allison and his 12 points and 5 rebounds followed by Dameon Nixon who had 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
