VIRGINIA BEACH (VA) – Eric Klacik and Skyelar Ettin combined for six 3-pointers and 33 points as The College of New Jersey defeated Delaware Valley College, 67-57, in the consolation game of the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins Tip-Off Tournament.

The Aggies (0-2), behind seven points from Manny Ochenje and six points from Nick Sullivan, held an early 13-8 lead. The Lions (2-0) came back to tie up the contest and it was still deadlocked at 24-24 with 6:04 left in the stanza. TCNJ then outscored Delaware Valley, 18-6, for the rest of the half to take a 12-point lead into the break.

The Lions build the lead to as many as 16, 53-37, in the second half, but the Aggies scored 10 straight, to make it a six-point contest with 7:19 to go. Chris Moran had seven points in the run, including a pair of dunks.

TCNJ's lead went back up to 10 but Francis Arnold and Zach Sibel hit back-to-back bombs for a 59-55 score with 3:29 remaining. Sibel then hit a layup after one Lions free throw for a one-score game. However, TCNJ hit seven free throws down the stretch and kept Delaware Valley off the scoreboard in the final three minutes for the 67-57 final.
