Entering the contest having lost two straight games, the Terriers returned to the win column with the help of some strong defensive play and superb shooting from the floor and beyond the arc. Thomas shot 50% (15-30) in the opening half, while going 5-9 (55.6%) from downtown.
In the first stanza, Zach Bean was the main contributor for the Chargers, leading the contest going into the break with 17 points, while Barnes had a team-leading 16 for the Red and Black.
The second half saw much of the same back and forth excitement, with neither team letting up. The visitors cut the Terriers lead to two at 17:32, with a three-pointer by Bean. In the later minutes however, Thomas would go on a 7-0 run to take a 13 point lead, and never trail by less than double digits for the remainder of the game.
The Terriers went on to notch a game-high 20 point lead, 82-62, when Levi Barnes brought the crowd to their feet with an electrifying dunk.
For Thomas, Adam Carlsen came off the bench to produce 16 points, shooting 5-10 from the field. Garen Manzo and Shaun Munson each contributed with 10 points respectively.
For the Chargers, Bean tied Barnes with a game-high 22 points, while Koang Thok chipped in with 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Mike Dias, who became the 15th member of the Colby-Sawyer 1,000 point club, had 13 points in the historic night.
Overall, Thomas shot 47.7% (24-65) from the field, 40% (6-15) from the perimeter, and 82.4% (14-17) from the charity stripe, while Colby-Sawyer went 24-65 (36.9%) from the floor, 9-30 (30%) from the three-point distance, and 12-20 (60%) from the free throw line.
Thomas returns to action tomorrow as they host New England College at 3pm. Earlier this season in Henniker, the Terriers defeated the Pilgrims, 91-73.
