With the victory, the Terriers improve to 4-8 (4-3 NAC) on the season, while MMA falls to 1-10 (0-5 NAC).

Thomas kicked off the contests first scoring, as senior Eric Westbrooks hit a jump shot at the 19:23 mark. The Terriers would not relinquish the lead over the course of the opening half, going up by as much as ten points at 13:57 on a three-pointer by Adam Carlsen.

Maine Maritime was able to chip away at the hosts lead, going on a 7-0 run midway through the period to cut the deficit to one. The two sides would exchange baskets in the later stages of the half, but Levi Barnes made a layup with 30 seconds remaining to provide the Terriers with a 36-31 lead heading into intermission. Barnes went into halftime with a game-leading 11 points, going 5-10 from the floor.

In the first half, Thomas shot 45.7% (16-35) from the field, while the Mariners went 12-32 (37.5%). Neither team was able to get anything going from the perimeter, with only one three-pointer being made on 20 attempts combined from both sides.

The second half began with both teams going back and forth with baskets, while Thomas held on to a slim lead. The Terriers were able to pull away however at 8:39, going on a 15-90 run to give them a comfortable 28 point lead. MMA would be held to just nine points over the last nine minutes of the contest, giving up nine turnovers in that span.

Senior guard Garen Manzo contributed with 16 points, while Carlsen chipped in with 12 points off the bench for the Red and Black.

Kyle Boucher had a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards for the Mariners in the losing effort. Shep Carter was the only other player in double digits for scoring with 11 for the visitors.

Overall, Thomas shot 48.1% (37-77) from the field, and 6-20 (30%) from downtown. Maine Maritime went 38.5% (25-65) from the floor, while shooting 24% (6-25) from the perimeter. The Mariners held a 44-39 advantage in rebounds in the loss.

Thomas will travel to conference rival University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday at 1pm. The Terriers will look to even the series with UMF, falling to them 82-67 earlier this month in Waterville.
