CASTINE, Maine -- Husson exploded for 60 points in the second half en route to a 97-50 win over Maine Maritime in a  North Atlantic Conference men's basketball game Tuesday. The Eagles improved to 17-2, 11-1 NAC, while the Mariners dropped to 1-18, 0-12.

Tyler Chiasson paced the Mariners with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Trevon Butler dropped a game-high 26 points for Husson and Jason Burgo grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds.

The Eagles jumped out to a 6-0 lead after a Butler three four minutes into the game. They led by 16 on a pair of Phil Leighton free throws with 8:57 left in the first before the Mariners went on 14-6 scoring run to get within eight, 26-18, with 5:03 on the clock. Zach Radcliffe scored five points in the run for MMA, Chiasson added four, Brian Goda three and Kyle Boucher 2. Husson built its lead to 17, 35-18, on Burgo layup with 1:34 left and led 37-20 at halftime.

Leighton's three early in the second put the Eagles ahead 42-20 and their lead never dipped below 20 the remainder of the game. 

The Mariners return to action Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Colby-Sawyer.
