(LATROBE, Pa.) – The Thomas More College men's basketball team fell, 75-61, to Saint Vincent College today (Saturday, January 18, 2014) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Carey Center in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

With the loss, the Saints fall to 6-10 overall and 5-2 in the PAC.  With the win, the Bearcats improve to 14-2 overall and 7-0 in the PAC.

Saint Vincent jumped out to an early 21-13 lead with 8:36 to play in the first half when Isaac Turner made one-of-two free-throws.  Thomas More answered with a 12-2 run capped by a three-pointer by junior guard/forward Drew Mumford (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy) made a three-pointer with 2:52 to play in the opening half.  The Bearcats closed out the half on an 8-4 run to take a 31-29 lead at halftime.

The Bearcats opened the second half on a 7-2 run to extend the lead to 38-31 on a Sean Kett lay-up with 16:32 to play in the game.  Thomas More used an 8-5 run to cut the lead to 43-39 with 12:53 to play in the game when senior forward Brandon Housley (Covington, Ky./Holmes) made a lay-up.  Saint Vincent answered with an 8-2 run capped by a Kett three-point play with 10:48 to play in the game to extend the lead to 51-41.  Junior forward Jalen Clark (Frankfort, Ky./Western Hills) converted an old fashion three-point play to cap a 5-0 run and cut the lead to 51-46 with 9:43 to play in the game.  That would be as close as Thomas More would come as Saint Vincent closed out the game on a 24-15 run for the 75-61 win.

Mumford led three Saints in double-figure scoring with 15 points, while Clark and senior guard D'Carlo Hayes (Louisville, Ky./Male) each added 11 points.  Housley led the team on the boards with eight rebounds, while Mumford led the team in assists with six.

Thomas More returns to action on Wednesday (January 22) at it opens a two-game home stand as it hosts Bethany College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
