Buffalo State Loses at Oswego, 85-69

OSWEGO, NY—Oswego (10-2/4-1) led wire-to-wire en route to an 84-69 victory over visiting Buffalo State (6-5/2-2) in a SUNYAC game today at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) led Buffalo State with 24 points and 15 rebounds, and Chris Thompson (Far Rockaway/Channel View) scored 20 points and grabbed nine boards.  Bradley Doyley (Brooklyn/Sports Management HS) was the next highest scorer for Buffalo State with eight points. 

Oswego scored first and never let the Bengals catch up, leading 40-26 at halftime.  Buffalo State cut the deficit to seven on several occasions in the second half, but could never get any closer.

Buffalo State committed a season-worst 20 turnovers that Oswego converted into 21 points.  It was also the first game this season that the Bengals failed to make a 3-pointer, going 0 for 3 from beyond the arc. 

Buffalo State will next travel to Geneseo on Tuesday for an 8 p.m. tip.
