STATEN ISLAND, NY (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Randolph College shot 86 percent from the line in the second half and made 20 foul shots on the night and despite knocking down 10 three-pointers New Jersey City University dropped its fourth straight game after a 5-0 start, falling to the Wildcats, 62-50, in the opening round of the College of Staten Island 12th Annual Tournament of Heroes on December 28.
NJCU (5-4), playing its first game in 21 days, shot 10-of-28 from three-point range (.357) but attempted just 10 free throws all contest (4-10). The Wildcats (6-3) shot 53.3 percent from three-point distance (8-15) and made twice as made foul shots (20-27, .741) as NJCU was allocated total chances.
NJCU which was facing Randolph for the first time, will also face a new opponent in the tournament's consolation game on December 29 at 1 p.m. against Rivier College. The Raiders were 93-63 losers to host Staten Island in Saturday's other opening round game.

Junior point guard JUSTIN HARTE (Irvington, NJ/Irvington) came off the bench to register a game-best and career-high 15 points. He had only 11 points in his first eight career games as a Gothic Knight and had never collected more than three points in a game prior to Saturday's outburst, finishing with 5-of-10 from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point distance in just 20 minutes of action.
Junior point guard JOURDAN ROBERSON(Brooklyn, NY/University (Newark)) finished with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting and 4-of-7 three-point accuracy, adding four assists and two steals. He netted 14 of NJCU's 24 first half points. Sophomore guard KHALID MUHAMMAD (Orange, NJ/Orange) tallied eight rebounds (seven defensive) and seven points. No other Gothic Knight scored more than six and outside of Harte and Roberson, NJCU shot 2-of-13 from three-point territory.
