Eric Bryson (Elkhorn/Elkhorn) led four Warhawks in double-digits with 16 as the Warhawks cruised past Lawrence University Friday 73-56 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the 2013 Cruzin Classic.  Bryson was joined by Quardell Young (Kenosha/Bradford) (15 points), KJ Evans (Beloit/Beloit Memorial) (14 points), and Reggie Hearn (Milwaukee/Marshall) (12 points) as the Warhawks improved to 7-2 overall.  Lawrence is now 5-4 this season.

The Vikings took an early 8-2 lead at the 17:50 mark before back-to-back buckets and a pair of free throws by Reggie Hearn (Milwaukee/Marshall) made it 8-8. Over the course of the next eight minutes the teams went back and forth, including four lead changes and three ties, before Quardell Young (Kenosha/Bradford) gave the Warhawks the lead for good with a 3-pointer that made it 24-21 with 7:45 left in the first half.

The Vikings battled back to within one with a 3-pointer with 3:15 remaining in the first half but Bryson answered with a three and the Warhawks closed the half on an 8-0 run. UW-W used 14 points in the paint and 8 points off turnovers to head into the locker room with a 40-31 lead.

Three turnovers in the first five minutes of the second half allowed Lawrence to come within five, but an Alex Merg (Greendale/Greendale) three pointer with 15:02 left in the game pushed it to eight and the Warhawks never looked back.  UW-W extended their lead to as much as 19 in the game.

Evans added eight rebounds and two steals to go along with his 14 points while Bryson hauled in five boards and one assist.

The Warhawks will take on Augsburg College on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale at 4:00 pm (EST).  UW-W returns to their home court on December 30 when they host Edgewood College at 7:00 pm.
