Trinity Men's Basketball Clobbers Cobleskill In Union Tourney Third-Place Game

Schenectady, N.Y. - Freshman Chris Turnbull (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored 13 points and sophomore guard Rick Naylor (Sudbury, Vt.) added 10 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 65-43 win over SUNY Cobleskill in the consolation game of the 2013 Sig Makofski Men's Basketball Invitational Tournament at Union College's Viniar Athletic Center this afternoon. The Bantams now are 4-2 while the Tigers fell to 1-4.

Freshman forward Edward Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a game-best 11 rebounds with eight points for Trinity, which shot 41 percent from the field and had a 44-34 rebounding edge for the game. Sophomore forward Shay Ajayi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had seven boards with seven points and junior Hart Gliedman (New York, N.Y.) added eight points.

With a 31-25 lead at halftime, Trinity opened it up to a 16-point advantage at 51-35 with 8:22 left on a three pointer by Tumbull. It was a 12-point game with 5:22 left after a layup by Cobleskill's Cortell King made it 53-41, but the Bantams went on a 12-2 run to finish the contest.
