Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team defeated Medgar Evers tonight, 73-48, in a non-conference game in the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 3-0 overall, while the Cougars fall to 1-2.

The Rams led 46-25 at the break with 10 players in scoring, led by junior guard Justin Bailey (Jamaica, N.Y.) and senior guard Timothy Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) with a team-high seven points. Farmingdale State shot 51-percent from the field and held Medgar Evers to 8-for-31 (25.8%).

In the second half, the Rams held a 19-point lead and led by as many as 28 points en route to the home opening victory. Senior center Donald Lawes (Queens, N.Y.) had a double-double with 15 points (7-for-8) and 11 rebounds and added a game-high six blocks. Sophomore guard Wilson Molina (Queens, N.Y.) and senior guard Jonathan Annan (Staten Island, N.Y.) each had a game-high five assists, while Johnson and Bailey each tallied nine points. Senior forward Samson Lawal (Queens, N.Y.) pulled down nine rebounds and senior guard Terence Henderson (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded eight boards.

For the Cougars, junior guard Khalid Yousef (Flushing, N.Y.) scored a game-high 16 points, while junior center Valin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had five points and 14 rebounds.

Farmingdale State next will host Maritime in their Skyline Conference opener on Wednesday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m.
