GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy clamped down defensively, holding Marywood to just four field goals in the second half in a 76-36 Colonial States Athletic Conference win on Saturday at the Griffin Complex.

The Griffins (13-10, 12-4 CSAC) led by 12 at halftime, but outscored the Pacers (6-18, 5-12 CSAC), 48-20 in the second stanza while shooting over 50%. The squad, who scored 27 points off of 21 Pacer turnovers, had a season-high six blocks while adding 12 steals.

Freshman Shawn Wilson, along with Justin Knight and Tyler Barnes paced a very balanced offense, as each registered in double figures. Wilson led GM with 11 points while Knight and Barnes chipped in 10 respectively.

On the glass, Gwynedd held a 45-34 edge, 17 of which were on the offensive side. The tandem of senior Frank Champion and freshman Larry Jones III pulled down eight apiece. Champion added nine points and three blocks while Jones contributed five points and three steals.

Marywood did not have a player reach double digits, as the team was only 11-for-45 (24%) from the floor. Ryan Corrigan and Kendall Harris netted eight points each. Harris snared a team-high eight caroms.

For the game, Gwynedd-Mercy was 25-of-61 (41%) shooting while hitting 10-of-28 from behind the arc.

The Griffins can move closer to sowing up the #2 seed and a first-round playoff bye on Monday when they host Baptist Bible on senior night at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, they'll travel to Neumann to close out the regular season. The CSAC Playoffs begin a week
