GREENSBORO, N.C. – Josh Pittman scored 22 of his game-high 28 points in the second half of Guilford College's 66-55 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Shenandoah University Saturday.

Pittman had just six points after a tightly contested first half that saw Guilford (16-5, 8-4 ODAC) take a 24-21 lead. The senior guard made seven-of-11 second-half shots from the floor, including two three-pointers, which helped the Quakers open a 10-point lead midway through the second half.

Shenandoah's Jared Carithers kept the Hornets close in the second half by scoring 13 of his team-high 17 points. A pair of Carithers free throws drew the visitors to within 49-44 with 6:47 left in regulation. However, Guilford scored the next seven points to open a 56-44 margin with 4:13 remaining. The Quakers sealed their second straight win with 10-for-10 free-throw shooting in the final 2:27.

The taller Quakers used their size advantage to enjoy a 46-25 rebounding edge. Guilford collected 17 second-chance points, which led to 19 points, and outscored the Hornets, 22-4, in the paint. Rookie center Zeb Richardson collected a career- and game-high 16 rebounds as well as 14 points for his team-leading fifth double-double of the year. Matt McCarthy scored eight points for Guilford and teammate Jake Hopkins had four points and eight rebounds.

Eli McEathron and Shaquille Rodney both scored 11 points for Shenandoah (3-18, 0-12 ODAC), which has dropped 12 straight.

Guilford visits league-rival Randolph College Wednesday (2/6) at 7:00 p.m.
