Despite cutting their deficit to within three points midway through the second half, Albion College could not break through and earn a win over Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action inside Kresge Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs went on an 11-2 run over eight minutes to stretch their lead to 15-7 with 9:20 remaining in the first half.  Albion slowly chipped away, but still went into the locker room down by four, 26-22, at the half.

The Britons kept the game close during the second half of play. Mike Smith's dunk with 7:24 remaining in the game pulled Albion within three points, 46-43, and it looked as though the momentum would swing the Britons' way. The Bulldogs, however, answered with a 6-0 run over the next three minutes of the contest, from which Albion never recovered.  Adrian went on to outlast Albion for a final score of 63-49.

Four of Adrian's players scored in double-digits during the contest, led by Eric Lewis' 18 points. Rickey Jackson Jones and Adam Meier each totaled 12 points, while Drew Torey scored a season-best 10 points.

Chris Hutton and Eric Evans tied as Albion's leading scorers, each tallying 11 points.
