ANGOLA, Ind. - After trailing early, the Trine University men's basketball team fought back to defeat conference foe Albion College 70-62. The Thunder improve to 10-5 on the season with the victory and 3-1 in the MIAA.

The Britons would hit two three-pointers in the opening minute to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Trine would score seven unanswered points to take a 7-6 lead. However, Albion would push it to their largest lead of the game at 21-14 with 12:35 left to play in the opening half. Trine would finally break free as they went on a 15-7 run to re-take the lead with 7:12 to play and never relinquish it. The Thunder would take a 39-35 lead into the locker room thanks in part to scoring 13 points off seven Albion turnovers while committing just two.

Trine came roaring out of the second half gate as the Thunder went on a 16-3 run to reach their largest lead of the game at 55-38. Albion wouldn't go quietly though as they held Trine scoreless over a three minute period to close the gap to just five points. The Trine defense came up big late though as they allowed just one Albion basket in the final 3:54 to hold off the Britons.

Leading the way for the Thunder was senior Ian Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) with a game-high 29 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including three from behind the arc. Jackson also went 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. Fellow senior Scott Rogers (Waterford, Mich./Kettering) added 14 points and two steals. Freshman Jared Holmquist (Reed City, Mich./Reed City) finished the afternoon with 11 points and pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
