GREENSBURG, PA - The Medaille College men's basketball team earned its second straight win as they hung on for a (66-57) road victory at Pitt-Greensburg.  The Mavs moved into a second place tie in the AMCC standings with the victory.

In a game where the Mavs did not shoot as well as they had been previously, they shot well enough and worked hard on the defensive end of the floor, en route to a critical conference win.  The Mavs managed to knock down (43.1%) of their shots from the floor while connecting on (35.0%) of their three point attempts.  The Mavs held a (32-18) advantage at the break and stretched their lead to as many as (17) points early in the second half.

A huge key to victory for Medaille was their ability to turn all eleven Greensburg turnovers into points as they tallied (22) points off the Bobcat miscues.  They also dominated the lane, outscoring Pitt-Greensburg (30-18) in the paint and outrebounding the home team (39-33) in the game.

Leading the way for Medaille were a pair of familiar faces as sophomores Jammal Coleman and Alex Baron dictated play.  Coleman posted game highs in both scoring (19) points and rebounding (7) boards with Baron following closely behind with (14) and (5) respectively.  Coleman was (6 for 12) from the floor and a perfect (7 for 7) from the charity stripe while Baron was (6 for 10) overall and (2 for 2) from long distance.  Senior point guard Josh Laureano directed the Maverick offense with a team high (5) assists to go along with (5) points and (5) rebounds.

The win pushes the Mavs record to (7-6) overall and they improve to (4-2) in AMCC play.  The Mavs will take on crosstown rival D'Youville College on Wednesday (1/9) in another AMCC showdown.  Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 8:00pm.
